Via Voce

Just so you know, this is Mandy (commandeering Gabe's blog for the moment). I'm really excited about introducing my business to everyone. If you want to see what has been keeping me busy recently, you can visit my website.

Here's a more official blurb about what I do...

Communication is key to personal and professional success.

As your communication coach I will work comprehensively with your specific verbal communication needs. In turn, this training equips you to reach your goals and objectives.

I will analyze and evaluate your communication process and then develop a tailored communication plan with practical strategies for implementation and practice. Whether it is through a seminar, workshop, or individual coaching, you will receive tools that will take you to your next level of communication polish.

Things to do while falling down a mountain

  1. After landing crazily on your back, punch the offending hillside and yell "Bad Mountain" at the top of your lungs
  2. While in mid-air (after having both ski bindings let go) scream "Yard Sale!". Fall heavily.
  3. Expertly handle the powder-laden moguls. Once clear of the bumpies at the bottom of the run, fall unexpectedly on the straight leading to the lift.
  4. Mis-handle the transition from beautiful corduroy to 12" of powder. Make sure your neck hits the ground before the rest of your body.
  5. Enjoy 20" of fresh powder in 3 days time, relish the company of your wife and brother-in-law, and marvel at the retiree who's skied 75 days this year.

Yes, I either observed or experienced all of the above over the last 4 days.

Ghetto'd

I've just discovered where most MySpace layouts originate.

Bask in the awfulness and the coolness (I suppose) that is strangebanana.com. Sadly, most of its layouts are better than the MySpace ones I've seen.

Nerdtastic

Some of you probably find Wierd Al to be highly offensive (he can be), but I just ran across a song that most people will find exceedingly funny. Ladies and gentlemen! I give you "White and Nerdy."

There's even a music video.

Revisited

It is an odd thing to look back at things written nearly 2 years ago and reflect on the circumstances surrounding the writing of those things. My attention was recently drawn back to this poor, neglected spot on the web, and I took the time to read over some of my old entries. Life was quite different for me when I started this thing. I've gotten married, moved three times, held 3 (4 if you're counting intra-company) different jobs, and purchased a house since February of 2004.

Alas, my ability to write for the public has not increased. It's probably decreased since then, in fact. With that said then, I promise to make an appearance here before nine months pass again. Perhaps I should promise that I'll write again before the first snow falls on the plain, since there's already been snow on Pike's Peak. Fall is a wonderful time in Colorado.

Snow's falling again

I realized as I watched the snow fall outside, that I haven't posted since the last time I saw a good snowfall. So...here's another snowfall post. I love the snow. It cleanses the land and makes the already beautiful landscape here even more so.

Mandy started her new job today. She's working in the Private Client Services department at Wells Fargo. Incidentally, her boss is the same man who was her father's boss when he worked there. We're both excited about this new opportunity. Hopefully, there's a house in our near future now too.

My job's busy in spurts. A lot of times it seems to drag and then there's the times where I can't get stuff done quick enough. I wish there was a way to smooth it out so I could be busy all the time. I'll be moving within the building in the next couple of weeks. Right now I'm in a kinda temporary spot until my new area's done. Apparently, the C&MA is now renting space to a travel agent that does most of their overseas bookings. They're the main cause of all the upheaval, so I guess I'll glare at them for the first week or so that they're here.

Oh, for those of you who care about the progress I've made in my addiction, 17 other people and myself are getting to the point where this guy will be challenged and defeated in the next couple of weeks. Phat lewtz for all! Incidentally, I didn't take that screenshot, but I'm in it. The name's Tirian. Don't forget it. :)

Edit: Due to some complaints about the above image of my nemesis being blocked, the image is now hosted on egolffamily.info and should be available for all to view. Wow, long, exhausting sentence, that.
