from steph...i bring you my book life.

1. One book that changed your life:
hmmm...how can you really narrow it down to one? gracious. i think it would have to be:
not even a hint by joshua harris

i am not a big fru-fru Christian book proponant, but this book really changed my thinking about how i conduct myself and how i need to glorify my Father. if you haven't read it, i urge you to.

2. One book that you've read more than once:
The Giver by Lois Lowry a yount adult fiction book that is based around a utopian society. amazing book. i especially enjoy the part about color.

the superior person's book of words. i could entertain the desert island creatures with my superior knowledge. :)

Salman Rushdie wrote Haroun. It's wonderful. It's a kids' story with broad social implications.

1. One book that changed your life:
notes from underground-dostoevsky

2. One book that you've read more than once:
little women

3. One book you'd want on a desert island:
canterbury tales by chaucer, because it's broken up into little bits so you could read a segment and then go sun for a bit, read some more, then go swim, read, go hunt for food, etc.

or Lord of the flies because it's just too appropriate for that situation

4. One book that made you laugh:
I'm not much of a comedy reader. Ok, this doesn't count I know, but I love the play Kiss Me, Kate. It's so very good.

5. One book that made you cry:
The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein.

6. One book that you wish had been written:
The Eggplant Confession and other Assorted Tales (it's actually a work in progress)

or some of my dreams, when i eat peanut butter, I have the weirdest dreams.

7. One book you wish had never been written:
Moby Dick-Melville. I abhor, despise, loathe this book. I spit on it. *spit*, *spit*, *spit*

8. One book you're currently reading:
I'm reading Emma (again)

9. One book you've been meaning to read:
Sophie's World and the rest of The Circle trilogy by Dekker

since i can't do a post on my own blog because of the secure internet here at school, i will answer the "Tag" on a comment. : ) hope thats ok.
I'm not ashamed to say that I might have the same answer for more than one.

1. One book that changed your life: Ironically, the book of Esther. Chapter 4 more specifically.

2. One book you've read more than once: "My Friend Flicka" by Mary O'Hara

3. One book you'd want on a desert island: "My Friend Flicka"

4. One book that made you laugh: "Code of the Woosters" by P.G. Wodehouse.
Probablly the most halarious thing ever.

5. One book that made you cry: I cried when I read the little house on the prairie, the part where Jack, the dog, dies. I also cried reading "The House of Mirth" by Edith Wharton. But, I ALWAYS cry when I read the last two pages of "My Friend Flicka".

6. One book that you wish had been written: a book on how beautiful and amazing our lives really are. except nobody would be able to put it into words. my friend flicka comes the closest to that concept.

7. One book you wish had never been written: "Sophie's Choice"

8. One book you're currently reading: "America in Crimson Red"
its a book on baptist history

9. One book you've been meaning to read: an autobiography of chopin

I'm adding another number for a catagory.

10. The most interesting book you've ever read:
"Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norell"
(can't remember who its buy)

In my opinion, if you want to be a writer, the two most essential books to study/ponder would be Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norell, and My Friend Flicka

My Friend Flicka is such a simple and overwhelmingly deep book, i get lost in it everytime. Its about life. It really is. And its the most beautiful thing I've ever read.

Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norell just is very interesting. I can't begin to describe the writing style to you because its just...different. haha. different than anything i've ever read. I wouldn't recommend reading it for any other reason but to study its writing style. Anyways.

: ) thanks for tagging me.
