help

i know i have asked all you before, but here it goes again. on effegy there are thumbnail pictures viewable on the site and when you click on them they pop up in a new window.

here is my problem. i can get thru most of it, but when you all tell me to click on the option for thumbnail, i don't have that option.

is there some upgrade i have to get or something?

hey, I don't even know what you are talking about. I want to know too, please.

Well, I know what thumbnails are, but I mean, is there a some MT thing that makes them? I feel left out. smile.

i think ben young has to take that out of lockdown for you?

and/or kammer can help you.

and or you can dig up that email i sent you with the sample code, then just upload your pictures and write down their initial (non-thumbnail) dimensions, then copy/paste not the upload code but my code, then switch out the directories, names and dimensions in my code so that your images will appear.

or.

upload the pictures to your site, copy/paste the non-thumbnail code in a draft entry, and copy ALL of the code. then...send me your code and i will see what i can do?

hmmm...

Hillary, you have full access to your blog, so that's not the problem.

When I try to upload a file, I don't see a "thumbnail" option. I'm beginning to think Andrew added that feature for his users. I'll be glad to do the same. I'd just have to locate the plugin.

Joy, it's very true that you can create thumbnails as mentioned, but the user has to load in the large version of the image just to see the thumbnail. The visual compression is not the best either because the browser is doing the work. The best bet is to use a graphics program to shrink it and then upload to images. A little more work, but it comes out nicely.

I'll have to dig around for a thumbnail generator. I'm sure there's one out there somewhere. :)

Later all,
Benjamin

ben, maybe it's a version thing rather than an andrew thing? the reason i ask is because i have the thumbnail option in effigy, which is a chattablogs.com blog in essence. still movable type, but not andrewlated.

so is it something i have to pay for? is it something i have to download?

I've got the most recent version of MT, so not I'm off to the mt-plugins site to see what I can find.

Stay tuned. :)

I'm tracking a conversation on the MT support forums that may be of help.
