Baby face

There are advantages and disadvantages to appearing younger than one's years. Sadly, most of the advantages aren't realized until one is at least middle-aged, while the disadvantages are often faced in one's youth.

Example disadvantage:

You're running late for class. Having just arrived on campus at BJ, you're frantically gettingoutofthecarputtingonyourjacketandgrabbingyournotebook when a van pulls up next to you with 2 of Public Safety's finest. They grill you about your employment status and place of employment and then, once satisfied that you're not lying, proceed to chuckle over the fact that you look like a freshman. Meanwhile, your watch's hands are marching inexorably toward 9:00. Finally, at 8:59, the officers wish you a good day and proceed on their way. You're left, silently calling down a storm of righteous invective on your face, with 58 seconds left. You walk into class late, but with a story that's pretty funny upon reflection.

I suppose I'll look back on this with amusement when I'm sixty and fat.

I've been known to have this problem too. My dad said I will appreciate later. I'm counting on that.

I totally understand the whole "baby face" thing. I was on campus first semester, and someone asked me if this was my freshman year. I felt like screaming, "I am 26 and have been done with college for almost 4 years." I didn't, though. I just told them that I was done with school.
