Christian Art Society site

Some years ago I had an idea for a "wikipedia" style site for Christian artists. The site would include encyclopedic info as well as articles, blog posts, and links to various Christian in the arts type information.

Other demands on my time have kept me busy elsewhere. That said, the domain name for this site expires on the 2nd of November of this year. If there is anyone out there interested in the site staying around (e.g. you are willing to add content and get others to do the same), please let me know.

The site as it currently stands is available at ChristianArtSociety.org.

I think this is a great idea, but can you give some more idea of what you mean by "Christian artist"?

Katherine,

Thanks for asking that clarifying question. I should certainly use part of this reply on the site if it stays around.

The goal for the site is to cover all artists who proclaim or are known/said to be Christian. On the site there would be descriptions of both their art and their beliefs ("journey", "experience"). Validation of those facts would be the sticky part.

The site wouldn't restrict based on denomination, etc., but would list those facts for others to analyze and choose accordingly--Areopagitica for Wiki's. ;)

Thoughts?

Sad day, the link is gone. I think it is a wonderful idea though. Maybe you could get it going if you had people committed to write some entries. Seems like a really good idea.

'fraid so. It expired on the 2nd. I'd love to keep it running, and I've still got the site/software/content and could host it on another domain. I'd be happy to renew it if I knew there'd be someone to work on it.

If you know of any takers, let me know. I just don't have time to do it myself at this point.
