Entire Sanctification?

Maybe someone can help me understand this quote from "The Disciplined Life" by Richard S. Taylor:

"Bu the Corinthians, though truly converted, were still eak; they were far from the strength of mature, disciplined character. In fact they did not posses even the minimal foundation of entire sanctification."

Entire sanctification? Is sanctification ever complete on this earth? Can it really be attained? If it can, is it minimal? Maybe he's using the term differently...

If any one can help clarify this, I'd be grateful.

Entire Sanctification? The Christian life is basically set within three aspects - Justification, Sanctification, Glorification.

Sanctification is a process - Glorification would be the equivalent of "entire sanctification". Glorification is the realization of our Sanctification - Sanctification in the past tense (sanctified). But how this author is using the term does not match up with the concept. It seems he is misunderstanding and misusing the term.

Of course, I haven't read the book, thereby not knowing the full context...

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too. If you're really curious you could try "search inside the book" at Amazon. :)

I would check out the "search inside the book" at Amazon, but it is not an option for this book - unless they have a couple different listings for it that I haven't found...

which is perfectly plausible :) hehe

Dr. Berg told (warned) the class about that in orientation before we read it...Taylor's denomination has a different view of sanctification, but I can't remember specifically. Sorry that's really vague

Glad to know about the warning that was given. From what the intro to the book (which I skipped) says, Taylor is professor emeritus of theology and missions at Nazarene Theological Seminary.

Maybe it is just a definition of terms, but it seems rather pivotal.

To stir the pot, I went googling and found a Q&A about entire sanctification.
