The beast comes clanking to life next Sunday, October 31.
I never thought nostalgia could peel out of the rim of a pot.
Or it's foot. I see stages, in months, where old tricks were
thrown out for new. Tools were thrown aside, or caught back
for different uses.
Nostalgia, it is. The burning feeling of steps never to be retraced.
The realization that pieces clap together in many ways, but rarely
the way you envisioned.
One makes mistakes and one regrets for a valid reason. The
Perfection beyond our clumsiness...our tools, time, clay.
God does forgive.

Posted by: micah at October 25, 2004 11:13 PMCongratulations in advance on your up-coming show, Ben. I know it will be amazing, and I'm sorry I won't get to see it in person (nor get to buy anything...I'm in desperate need of some hand-made hot-beverage mugs for my new apt...walmart doesn't seem to stock these...). Best wishes!

p.s. micah, that was hilarious! i loved it.
but i hope you feel better soon. :(
Ben, do you have any mugs for sale? Or, do you take commissions? I'm thinking about Christmas gifts, here, and I really liked the mugs you made Tomania and Paul for their wedding. I'm looking for three interesting guy-sized mugs. If you're interested in selling anything, e-mail me or whatever.
