idiokay 4/03

---------***----------***-----------***

A bird's face brought
the red again
and slashed the black with storm

A cheering group of men
next door can
make us want our turn

A matching smile for
glows within
that bounce and hug and sigh

A withered smirk that
drops a drop
of cancer in a laugh.

A shake of hands
when leaving friends
or setting up a deal

A hammer blow
on little heads
when Wayne had left the kids.

A redhead walking nervously
and deftly hid away.

A question
has NO GIVEN YES
behind a given face

A curse of repetition
now
of randomness, a chirp

A knock on doors
on folks with pain
a warm chair, clicking keys

A warm chair, clicking keys
has never held a little child

A mask that's worn
when helping homeless,
doing charity

A soul that never knew
a God who breathes
and lives so free.

A pretense that pollutes
a mind and sews up
all your mouthes.

A fist to wall
and forehead smash
that only callouses.

A heaping plate
of pancakes, syrup,
butter, toast and fruit.

A mother staring off to left
ashamed and nodding off.

A steel-toed boot that crushes
every head that surfaces

A chore to pick the gutter
for the dead birds
and the sticks

A car that floats above
the street and takes
up all the air

A person who can't
find "the words" yet
vomits them like bile

A body more than flesh
and bone, the weight of
all outside.

A cry from kids in
shopping carts
that doesn't mean a thing

A young man growing
tall in summer.
Voice collecting grit.

A jealousy for people's
drive and happiness in
life.

A change for times when
people move, a wrench
gets thrown in things

A sickness, plain in
motion, not a good thing
sitting down.

A fatness from a seizing
mind that cannot break
the loop.
