I was reading through a John Piper book this evening and I came across a devotional about starving our faith.
The way some Christians go about their devotions involves a five minute session in the evening and morning, or just one in the morning. And while it's needed, it's not enough. As Piper says, it's like surviving on a single glass of orange juice each day and every day; sometimes not every day. Piper's suggestion is to memorize Scripture to meditate on during the day, so we don't become spiritually starved.
It's a small piece, but it is Scripture and it helped me tonight.
Matthew 6:8b "your Father knows what you need before you ask Him"
me too.
"and now, LORD, for what do i wait? my hope is in YOU."
