The OurPeace.net domain is up for renewal next month. The warning that the domain name was about to expire got me thinking about ways to improve ourpeace.net.
Over the past two years, Micah has done a great amount of information collecting for the site. Trouble is, I haven't helped him get it out.
Fact is, there are quit a few other interested parties that may also like to contribute: Bo Beck, David Morris, Stephanie and I.
The thing that seems best to me to do at present is to run the site on a Wiki. Wiki software allows a group of users (or everyone on the internet typically) to edit any page on the web site. It saves versions of each change and it is possible at any time to revert back to a previous version. These features would allow us all to collaborate on the project together without loosing any of our changes.
The largest of all Wiki's that I know of is Wikipedia. It runs on a Wiki called MediaWiki. Using MediaWiki would allow us to restrict the editors to a closed group of users while still enabling browsing and possibly discussion by those that may visit the site.
I'm posting this whole long thing here for discussion purposes. I'd like all of you are interested to let me know via the comments system. If you have any concerns or questions, please post them via the same method.
Lord willing, we'll be able to turn ourpeace.net into a great tract site as well as an excellent cross-referenced, Bible centered, information site about our God and His Christ.
