A Tribute to the God in the Midst of Storms

As the flood waters and devastation left by Hurricane Katrina remind us of what many did and are going through, It is appropriate for Christians to give Glory to God. It is not appropriate for us to challenge the Almighty who with the words of his mouth brought the entire universe into being. Who replied to Job with these words, “Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Tell Me, if you have understanding,” (Job 38:4). We must, in our hearts, minds, and actions, hold Him and His ways in high regard.

I’ll Praise You In This Storm
By Mark Hall

I was sure by now
That You would have reached down
And wiped our tears away
Stepped in and saved the day
But once again, I say "Amen"
and it's still raining

As the thunder rolls
I bearly hear You whisper through the rain
"I'm with you"
And as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise the God
Who gives and takes away

I'll praise You in this storm
And I will lift my hands
For you are who you are
No matter where I am
Every tear I've cried
You hold in Your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise you in this storm

I remember when
I stumbled in the wind
You heard my cry You raised me up again
My strength is almost gone
How can I carry on
If I can't find You

As the thunder rolls
I bearly hear You whisper through the rain
"I'm with you"
And as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise the God
Who gives and takes away

I'll praise You in this storm
And I will lift my hands
For you are who you are
No matter where I am
Every tear I've cried
You hold in Your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise you in this storm

I lift my eyes unto the hills
Where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord
The Maker of Heaven and Earth

I'll praise You in this storm
And I will lift my hands
For you are who you are
No matter where I am
Every tear I've cried
You hold in Your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise you in this storm

Thanks, Micah.

DMo and I just received a fine exposition of John 14:1-6 in chapel. It was an exhortation to keep believing, keep hoping, and keep resting in times when the heart is troubled.

We are both in need of a fresh perspective of God's gracious sovereignty and loving control of our lives. Thanks for your help. I am so glad to read your growth in grace, and I trust you will continue to progress towards the perfection we will enjoy in the presence of our Lord.

Grace and peace,

Bails

Thanks Adam for bringing that passage to mind and for the encouragement. God is good and faithful, even... when we are not. Praise God from whom all blessings flow.
