Toys in the mail

Yesterday when I got home from work there was a package on the front steps. It was from Connecticut Cane and Reed and I was so excited!!! It contained more reed (something I NEED) and two sets of hoops for big baskets. One is a set of 14 inch hoops to make another large basket like the one I wasn't particularly happy with and the other is a set of 18 inch hoops to make a basket of truly mammoth proportions! I'm really looking forward to that one. I want to fill it with a large floral arrangement and put it on my hearth. If I just didn't have to go to work or class life would be so much more fun.......

I'm completly weary of work and classes as well. Let's forget them all and make baskets for the rest of our lives and live off of the good green earth. I would totally go for it. you get the door beads and I'll get the insense :-).

Ah, yes, Tim, weary is the word. I was very jealous of Gwen and her day of R&R yesterday. I just love days when there is no one else around (except Jasper, of course) and you can just do whatever you want, whenever you want to do it! I could have that huge basket well on it's way to completion if I had a day like that.

Beads, yes. Incense, no......!

I think gwen did the right thing with not going on the trip. It would have been academic suicide for all of us. I am so looking forward to this weekend. I've got maybe one and a half projects to do and then I'm free for the remainder. I think I'll wake up early and go somewhere for tea and a good book and decompress.

I totally know what you mean about the whole "no one else around." I house sat once and it was bliss. So peaceful.

I wonder if Jasper likes occasional bursts of solitude...

I'm sure Jasper likes being alone. He can rip the carpet to shreds without being smacked! Actually, I think he sleeps most of the time when we're away. He meets me at the door when I come home from work and "tells" me about his day. He's very conversant for the first half hour of so then he settles down on my lap and goes back to sleep, purring the whole time.
