Well, a new piece of technology has found it's way into my house. This is my first blog, from a wirelessly connected computer. I'm currently typing on my Dad's laptop in... (drum roll) ...THE KITCHEN!!!! 8o)
I was amazed at how easy it was to set up. This past weekend I was planning for my new Netgear MR814 Wireless Router to arrive, and thus began to get the house ready with the "needed" cabling. I over planned (which isn�t necessarily bad). The routers range easily covers the entire house, and is even tucked away in the closet down stairs. I had already resigned myself to the fact that I would have to have the router in the attic (in fact we ran wire there in preparation). I had also assumed that I would have to resign my wireless access to one end of the house.
I guess it's a prime example of hope for the best, but expect the worst. I can now get 'Good' reception in each corner of the upstairs and 'Very Good' to 'Excellent' everywhere else. I haven't tried it outside yet though. 8o)
BTW, did I mention it's a pretty slick looking device? 8o)
