Just a thought

Why are we so hard on ourselves?

God doesn't expect us to be perfect, just faithful.

Hmmmmmmmmmm.

I guess we're so hard on ourselves because we feel that we have to please God in everything and be like Jesus. But it's so comforting knowing that God knows our frame and that we're made of dust. He is so faithful when we are so faithless.

i am so hard on myself because i forget that God declares me to be righteous instantly but then provides a lifetime to make some progress in that direction.

i also have the nagging voices of error in my head that try telling me that God will love me more if i'm perfect.

If we are harder on ourselves than God is, does that not mean we view ourselves as the source of our own perfection? Satan is happiest when our focus is anywhere but on the true source of our salvation. I must not focus upon what I am not, I must focus on what He is because HE is making me like Himself.
"HE that hath begun a good work . . . will perform it."
