Growing in Grace

Although there is an end result to all that occurs in life, the process is as important if not more important to God. We continually look toward the goal, the major event, the day when we will have learned rather than the moments of learning or preparing. And, thankfully, we are never to old to learn. God does not ever say, "You should have learned that by now. If you don't know it by now, you never will." He just keeps putting bumps in our path to point us to the lesson so we will continue to learn to be like Him. The lessons aren't always new ones, just those we need again and again to renew a right spirit in us.

These days God is teaching me that I MUST trust Him on a minute by minute basis not with my last thought, but with my FIRST thought and with ALL the words of my mouth! I MUST not say anything that even implies that my God is powerless to help me. "Be anxious for NOTHING!" How often I forget that that is a command and not just an option. God is giving me the opportunity to demonstrate to all before whom I live that perfect peace is available from God Himself. I must "bring every thought into captivity" and make sure that the "words of my mouth ARE acceptable in His sight." It's a battle, but the God of the universe is the one for whom I live and all the power whereby He created the universe is mine to conquer the Wicked One.

If the Lord determines what happens to every person, then I must trust Him. Why do I waste my time trying to understand? As a baby, I did not try to understand the loving care of my parents, I simply trusted them with implicit faith. I had no power in myself to question and understand. Should I not now be the same way. Why should I question if I truly believe that God doeth all things well and that He makes NO mistakes.
