Scrub this on your Web App!

Ajax by Jesse James Garrett.

Another things to note (sadly it lacks a cleaner name): JPSpan. A tool to use to implement the Ajax concept with PHP and JavaScript. Part of the process mind you.

You’ve probably seen PPK’s linkdump on Ajax. I think I share his suspicion that Ajax sounds like “DHTML” in being an over-hyped “catch-all term for a collection of vague concepts.”

Austin,

Thanks for the lead. I actually hadn't seen that. i saw the first Ajax link (to Garrett's article) on PPK's site, but somehow missed the link dump.

I think he's right in many ways. It is about 60% promise and 40% hype right now. He's definitely right about the optional use of XML. I hadn't studied the Google products. However, I did realize that XML was likely optional because of my previous reads on JPSpan.

All in all I think the idea definitely has merit.

Your thoughts?
