Start watching American Idol. You know who to vote for. (Or, to be grammatically correct, you know for whom to vote.) Check out Fox, The Houston Chronicle, MSNBC, and the Chris Sligh Fan Club. And buy a T-shirt.

He's got my vote--that's for sure.

And at long last I understand how addictive American Idol can be.

He was great last night! I have told all of my students to vote for him.

He delivered the goods big time. Kinda like the new Guitar Vader album.

We'll be following Chris all the way. My daughter and I are huge Taylor fans, but there's always room for more great music. Love the fact that you're a "Christ follower" first Chris! Jon, hold on, I bet you guys are in for a wild ride.

I liked Chris, but "for whom to vote" is not necessarily the "grammatically correct" way to do it. There are two things at issue here: (1) the standard way of dealing with the infinitive when there's an accompanying preposition, and (2) the normal distribution of who~whom in (modern) standard English. C'mon, Jon. Break free of misinformed prescriptivism! Be like your brother! (And get a job! Ha ha. I love you Jon. Hat tip to RuthAmy Sutter for telling me that you're still blogging. :)

Hello Josh. It's good to hear from you. If I remember correctly, I never replied to an email of yours before my school email account was destroyed. Thank you for correcting my faux pas and encouraging me to be a grammatical libertine. What are you doing these days? And when are you going to join Facebook and get a blog?

Your bro is the big topic of conversation over at the BJ Grad Forums. I guess he has a lot of fans!

By the way, the video you linked to is not available, and I'm over here in Europe with no tv. :( Is there another way to see it?

Posted by: iGirl at February 12, 2007 01:09 PM

Jon,

I've been looking for a way to contact you. And this seems to be the only way I can find. So since the comments do not appear until you approve them, I figured I would write to you here and ask that you not post it on your site.

I have something that I really need to apologize to you and your brother for. So if you could e-mail me at rick.pidcock@northfieldchurch.com, I would really appreciate it. Just in case this message somehow gets on your site, I won't write any details here. Please e-mail me asap. Thanks,

Rick
