the startling lack of sympathy for a lad who lost his digital camera in a chinese airport

this one's for sam, whose digital camera is floating around somewhere on the chinese black market

In a short lapse of retrospection,
I found an old mem'ry--this recollection
Has found a place in my affection
And I laugh at it once more.

Nostalgic, I play and replay this vision
That merits my laughter and derision;
Sam's camera--lost--I now envision
And I laugh at him once more.

lost as in stolen.

pretty funny stuff???

he was lucky he still had the larger of his memory cards which he had already filled up... otherwise he (and you!) wouldn't have any of his pics from that time.

i assumed that 3 years is long enough ago to be able to laugh at it. that little poem was written in a long chain of emails with sam exchanging cheeky banter.

Joy, my male intuition told me that any minute now you would come onto my blog and scold me for not posting anything as of late. But I beat you to the draw.
