Always Forgiven

I don’t deserve to be Your servant
And how much less to be Your child
Anger and wrath, sure condemnation
Should be my portion, my just reward
Never have seen it, never will know it
Your lovingkindness enfolds my life

All You have shown me is
Grace, love and mercy
Now and forever I am Your child
Freely You pour out
Your lovingkindness
Father of grace
You welcome me in

All of the sin I have committed
Was placed upon Your righteous Son
And now You see me
Through His perfection
As if I’d never done any wrong
Always forgiven, always accepted
No fear of judgment
Before Your throne

Prayer

"The secret of praying is praying in secret."

"A sinning man will stop praying, and a praying man will stop sinning."

"We are beggard and bankrupt, but not broken, nor even bent."

"Prayer is profoundly simple and simply profound."

"Prayer is the simplest form of speech that infant lips can try, and yet so
sublime that it outranges all speech and exhausts man's vocabulary."

"A Niagra of burning words does not mean that God is either impressed or moved."

"One of the most profound of Old Testament intercessors had no
language-"Her lips moved, but her voice was not heard."

silly Tom

I work for Bill Martin here at Hanover Mortgage. Tracey is his wife and they have three kids - Robin (9), Dawson (6), and Brynn (2). The Martins also go to North Hills.

My boss is in Colorado skiing this weekend and Tracey asked me to baby-sit Dawson and Brynn while she takes Robin on a date. So Tracey is on the phone telling someone that she's most likely going to have me baby-sit. Brynn is standing close and says:

"Babysitter? babysitter? hims not babysitter, hims just silly Tom. Hims pick me up all the time" and she babbled something else as she walks away.

She’s adorable!

They're back!

Drew, Teresa, and Roger - Family in China

They made it back safely and are in the recovery process. Roger has an ear infection and is still adjusting his sleep schedule and hence Dad and Mom aren't having an easy time adjusting their sleep schedules...
Drew has started working on getting some applications out to different churches and ministry opportunities. They are looking for the Lord's leading in their next ministry. Their main focus right now is on a position over a children's ministry at a church.
Pray for them! Thanks!

Enough

All of You is more than enough for all of me
For every thirst and every need
You satisfy me with Your love
And all I have in You is more than enough

You are my supply
My breath of life
And still more awesome than I know
You are my reward
worth living for
And still more awesome than I know

All of You is more than enough for all of me
For every thirst and every need
You satisfy me with Your love
And all I have in You is more than enough

You're my sacrifice
Of greatest price
And still more awesome than I know
You're my coming King
You are everything
And still more awesome than I know

More than all I want, More than all I need
You are more than enough for me
More than all I know, More than all I can see
You are more than enough for me

Twilight

This fits so well with what I've been feeling and learning recently. I can't rid myself of sin. There's no set of rules that I can establish in my life that will win over my struggles. Even though I know this, I continue to battle it. I get this sense of disappointing God because of my continual sin. I need to transfer the knowledge of my position before Him from my brain to my heart.
It's only by God's grace that I'm saved and have freedom from sin. And even though the "old" man is dead, he still rears his ugly head from time to time.
Lord, you have defeated sin, help me to have victory over this "old" man's ghostly presence. Lord, "paint my heart a solid hue, the shade of You. And break this dreadful in between inside of me."

Like the sky before the dawn
While the night is holding on
Sun and moon together in the gray
So my soul is shared by two
The worst of me, the best of You
Saint and sinner mingle in my veins
And I pray You'll end this twillight

Twillight, twillight
I'm torn inside my soul tonight
The dawning day, the dying night
Oh rid my soul of twillight
Oh rid my soul of twillight

Good I love but evil's done
Good intentions come undone
Good to know I know the One
Who saves me from myself and

Oh Lord, paint my heart a solid hue
The shade of You
Oh Lord, break this dreadful in between
inside of me
Oh let it be morning

I know the sun is coming up
Oh, the sun is coming up
Yes, the sun is coming up
In me, in me

very cool quote

"'You come of the Lord Adam and the Lady Eve,' said Aslan. 'And that is both honor enough to erect the head of the poorest beggar, and shame enough to bow the shoulders of the greatest emperor on earth. Be content.'"

C.S. Lewis - Prince Caspian

Satisfy me

We studied Psalm 90 this past Sunday (new years day). Peter's challenge was to take verse 14 and apply it every morning.

"Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days." Ps. 90:14

George Muller once said:
"The first and great and primary business I sought to attend to everyday was to have my soul happy in the Lord."

This is not a ritualistic thing that you do every morning. And it's not the absolutely first thing that has to be done in the morning, it means early (now rather than later). It's connecting with God, talking to Him, and letting him speak to you. That's why it's called a relationship.
