bells and whistles

At my appointment this morning, Dr. Spear and I had a solemn conversation about my disease and his ability to treat me. He said he trusted the Naval Hospital's Pain Clinic and used to work with a chief doctor there. He refused to take advantage of my condition and repeat treatments that probably wouldn't help me. (In fact he didn't charge us for his consultation.) He confirmed that I am on the best medication for my condition. And he referred me to Johns Hopkins or Duke University. He considers me outside the Bell Curve of RSD patients. I have lived with this disease for 9 years.
So...

Pray that I can get into the Pain Clinic at either Johns Hopkins or Duke University. I think I'd like Duke. That way, I'd be closer to Greenville.

Micah, sometimes I don't read what you send, just because I don't want to take the time to get on the Internet. I'm so glad I did read it today.
I will pass on your prayer request, and call Memaw right now to tell there the good news that there is help coming! We often don't know why things happen as they do, but we can be sure they happen on God's timetable.
Much Love, Gram

Your strength has always given me hope. Your ability to live with this these 9 years and still look to God is amazing; and I am glad you remind us of the Christian's power when facing adversary. You are such a wonderful friend to me. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate writing with you and your companionship. I will pray for you :) God has you in HIS hands, and by HIS stripes, you can be healed.
Love, your sister in HIM
