Survivor
At least he went over with a smile...
jumper: depression or daredevil?
reminds me of a certain herd of pigs off the gadarenes' coast.
makes you wonder when a smiling, jittery man jumps into a certain-death situation and surfaces on the other side of it quiet and calm and miraculously alive.
maybe there's more in store for this maniac than meets the eye.
hmm?
Posted by: joy at October 21, 2003 01:13 PMI know this is macabre, but on television recently there was a man who had accidentally killed innocent people and as he put the gun to his head to commit suicide he asked God to forgive him.
I asked my brother, "what if the gun doesn't go off?" Will he take that as a sign that God forgives? My brother said, "what if he wakes up in the hospital?"
There are a lot of crazy things that we do (other than suicide, I mean--whether by gun or jump) that have unexpected consequences. I think sometimes we don't realize that the miracle is that God's sovereignty can't be thwarted. And that there is always something in store for us.
Posted by: james micah at October 21, 2003 02:26 PMHis father laid him off. Wow. I think there is something more to this. I hope he gets help for whatever is wrong with him.
The Lord can use any situation.
maybe it was the vodka. you know how drunk people survive car crashes and such, maybe that was all. idiot.
