Prominent Religious Leader stands up for the Christ

"So Jesus has fooled you too! Have any of the leaders believed in Jesus? No! Have any of us Pharisees believed in him? No! But those people {out there} know nothing about the law. They are under God's curse!"

But Nicodemus was there in that group. Nicodemus was the one that had gone to see Jesus before. Nicodemus said, "Our law will not let us judge a person without hearing him. We cannot judge him until we know what he has done."

John 7:45-53
The quote is from the Easy-to-Read Version (www.SearchGodsWord.com).

Talk about standing up in the work place. Nicodemus knew the Truth, personally. His testimony among the Pharisees in this passage is remarkable. I guess it never crossed my mind that he would have stayed with them, but it really makes sense. He was still a Pharisee. Still a Jew. But now, he believed that the Messiah had come.

Nicodemus shows up one more time in John. This time he's helping prepare Christ's body for burial: John 19:39. A Pharisee run execution, and Nicodemus helps bury the body. Not only was he brave, he was confident in what he had learned from the Christ.

Are we?
