Type is Beautiful
The designer speaks.
Call me weird, but I enjoy type. I really like type. Say what you will, it's just a bunch of letters, whatever, but not to me. These "just letters" are beautifully crafted masterpieces of design. So, that is why I drooled over these gorgeous fonts.
Typographica - Favorite Fonts of 2004
I'm really liking FF Absara. It has a Clarendon-esque quality that I just love.
Which is your favorite...and why?

That being said, I like Amira. The stroke widths are nicely proportioned. The unique "g," "a," and "e" are cool, but I'm not sure that I like the little serify flare on the top of the "f."
I didn't check out all the honorable mentions, but I'd like to see more of the new Zapfino Extra Pro. (Maybe Zapfino's overused, but knowing how to customize with the different options Zapfino gives sure does go a long way. Use the alternate letters, the ligatures, change the kerning, or even make the text a vector image and tweak the curves.) The capital "Q" shown on the Zapfino link is cool. The Forte (bold) version would be useful.
In a few months, hopefully I'll be posting some typography work I've done revamping the masthead at my newspaper. I've cleaned up a custom typeface that we used in the past. I hope to post the old typeface, our current masthead and the new one. But I'm not doing it until the changes hit the streets.

Hee hee. Just kidding. I love that font. I think I'm going to use it later today.
Thanks, bud.
