Cape Town Race

Over the weekend some friends and I went to Cape Town to watch our friend Bruce finish a big 110K bike race. I was supposed to stand in the front of the crowd to look out for him so we could snap a photo of him zooming by, but I coughed right as he was crossing the finish line and missed the opportunity of my life :-(. But we did get some pictures after the race. We spent the rest of the day in Cape Town dining and at the beach. It was a lovely time in the prettiest city I've ever seen. The next morning I woke up early for my first underwater scuba session! It's kind of scary breathing underwater. You forget that you can do it. We practiced taking off our mask and mouthpiece and putting the back on underwater. That's a little unnerving. Just two more sea dives and I'll be certified! My sister Anna and her husband Jason arrived in Stellenbosch tonight! They're staying 12 days. We have big plans ahead....

Cate! Looks like you're having a crazy awesome time! Where are you going to school? I told Lindsay(Weinholdt, we're dating, did you know that?) about it, and she's very envious about all you're doing...get in touch sometime, I'd love to hear from you...school's, well...school. :-) Praying for you!

Barba! You and Lindsay--that makes me so happy :-). I always thought you two cool people would be great together (do you remember me telling you that?). I'm studying at Stellenbosch University in Stellenbosch, South Africa. It's a beautiful country full of sweet, friendly people. I love it! Come visit :-).

I sure do remember that, Cate... God's good, eh? I'll have to tell you the story sometime...she's awesome! Hard to believe school's almost over here...I'm going back to Lucerne this summer, and then I'm traveling on a drama team next fall, so it's a pretty sweet year...'cept for all that time away from my girl. :-)
When are you coming back to the states? Are you studying there indefinitely or what? What are you studying, by the way?
Well, here's hoping all's well...enjoy your adventure!
